San Ul Lim

first 2 albums of the great Korean psychedelic rock band San Ul Lim, whose name translates to "That Mountain Echo". originally came from citiesonflame (link to the right -- all the best wishes to Dirk), and re-invigorated links by verdantone and kumarsicle.

hey, this band is great. but I believe their third record is their masterpiece. "5" is good too, and I think they devolve from there.

I like this music - to European ears it is very unusual because the band seems to use Korean musical traditions as well as pop in its influence. Great stuff!

To my ears San Ul Lim are one of the greatest and most original rock bands that ever existed. They just released a CD box set (Oct 08) and I suggest you all buy one. I found it on e-bay and chances are it will go out of print very soon. All of the albums have great songs, forget the myth that the first 3 albums are the best. They rock it out on every album. First class all the way and required listening for anybody who loves rock and roll. Hint: type in sanullim as one word when searching for the box set...
